USA, GA: Best End Brewing to serve its final pint on January 1st
Best End Brewing in Atlanta will serve its final pint on Wednesday, January 1st, joining other local businesses that have closed. The West End brewery has announced a closing celebration but has not revealed the reasons behind the decision, as per a FOX 5 Atlanta report.
Best End Brewing, located in the Lee + White development, opened just before the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite converting a former warehouse into a German-style beer hall, the owners were unable to find a buyer to save the business, according to co-owner Rob Hayes in a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Atlanta's Lee + White district will lose Best End's communal tables, Chef Cory Burke's menu of pub and Southern brunch favorites, and Tim Schiavone's rotating craft beers. The brewery will host its Community Farewell Bash this Saturday.
The Creamy Spot, a vegan ice cream pop-up at the brewery, faces displacement as its move to a shipping container near the Beltline has been delayed. Meanwhile, the Lee + White district, once a growing hub for culinary and brewing businesses, continues to experience closures, including Torched Hop Brewing and Steady Hand Beer Co.
The closure of Best End Brewing highlights a troubling trend for the West End and greater Atlanta community, which has seen beloved establishments like West Egg Cafe, Georgetown Cupcake, and Java Jive close their doors for good.
