World: Barley trade forecast for 2022/23 increased in USDAs latest report
World barley trade forecast for 2022/23 is increased to 30.116 mln tonnes this month, versus 29.716 mln in the September report and 27.967 mln forecast for 2021/22, USDA said on October 12.
Export forecast figure is up for Ukraine (2.4 mln tonnes vs. 1.8 mln last month and 2.7 mln tonnes forecast for 2021/22) and down for Argentina (3.5 mln tonnes vs. 3.7 mln forecast in September and 3.7 mln tonnes forecast for 2021/22).
Global barley crop is expected to reach 149.022 mln tonnes (vs. 147.723 mln forecast in USDAs September report for 2022/23 and 145.557 mln tonnes estimated for crop 2021/22).
Total barley consumption is seen at 149.271 mln tonnes (148.141 in the previous report, 148.134 mln tonnes estimated for 2021/22) and ending stocks at 17.961 mln tonnes (17.249 and 18.21 mln tonnes, respectively).
