Black Sea region: Barley crop forecast to decline in Russia and Kazakhstan, increase in Ukraine
Russias barley crop is forecast at 18.3 mln tonnes this year versus 20.5 mln last year, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their October report.
Ukraines farmers are expected to harvest 9.35 mln tonnes of barley (last year 7.64 mln), and Kazakhstans 3.4 mln tonnes (last year 3.7).
The Ukrainian export surplus is put a 5.5 mln tonnes, of which 4.14 mln tonnes were shipped or expected to load by Sept 23. 2.1 mln tonnes were destined to China.
The Russian barley surplus is estimated to be only 3.5 mln tonnes, shipments were 1.23 mln tonnes by end September.
