World: Barley trade forecast increased to 33.667 mln tonnes
World barley trade forecast for 2021/22 is increased to 33.667 mln tonnes this month from 33.017 mln tonnes in May, USDA said on June 10.
Export forecast for 2021/22 is up for the EU (7.3 mln tonnes vs. 6.8 mln in the May report and 7 mln tonnes forecast for 2020/21) and Ukraine (+100 thousand tonnes to 5.1 mln). Import forecast is up for China (10.6 mln tonnes vs. 10 mln in May and 9.6 mln tonnes in 2020/21).
World barley production forecast is slightly down this month at 157.176 mln tonnes versus 157.306 mln tonnes in last months report and 159.742 mln tonnes in 2020/21.
Total consumption is seen at 159.101 mln tonnes (158.786 mln tonnes in the May report and 159.904 mln in 2020/21) and ending stocks at 20.172 mln tonnes (20.116 and 22.097 mln tonnes, respectively).
