Brazil: New malting plant to be constructed in Campos Gerais
Campos Gerais, a municipality in the south of the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, is expected to soon become home of a new malt production facility, aRede reported on April 5.
The plant is jointly commissioned by the cooperatives Agrária (Guarapuava), Bom Jesus (Lapa), Capal (Arapoti), Castrolanda (Castro), Coopagrícola (Ponta Grossa) and Frísia (Carambeí). The partners are expected to invest about R$1.5 bln in the project.
The facilitys production capacity is planned at 240 thousand tonnes of malt, which is roughly 15% of the total market needs.
The works are expected to complete in 2023.
