Argentina: Barley crop expected to be 0.2 mln tonnes above last years
The Buenos Grain Exchange forecasts a barley crop of 3.7 mln tonnes, 0.2 mln tonnes more than last year, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported at the beginning of November.
Recent rainfalls were abundant, specifically in the southeast of the Buenos Aires province.
Farmers sales of new crop barley are only 250 thousand tonnes, fixed export licences at 467 thousand tonnes. Markets are hot, analysts expect sales of about 1 mln tonnes of Argentinean barley to China.
