Chile: Beer sales increase by 6.6% in 2018
Beer sales in Chile amounted to 9.65 mln hl last year, up 6.6% versus 2017, Euromonitor International reported on May 22.
As compared to 2013, last years volume increased by 35%.
In money terms, beer sales amounted to USD3.805 mln up 92.8% versus 2013.
CCUs Cristal beer accounts for 27% of total beer sales in Chile, whereas its Escudo brand is ranked second with a 22% share. AB InBevs Becker is the third-largest brand in the country accounting for 11.8% of total beer sales. Heineken and Corona Extra are also ranked among the nations best sellers.
Industry observers expect the competition on the Chilean beer market to intensify in the coming years as AB InBev has launched an expansion project at its production facility aiming at tripling its production volume and almost completely ending its dependence on imports of its beers.
