Romania: Romaqua to invest 31m euros in brewery

Romaqua Group, the largest mineral water producer on the local market, has budgeted investments worth approximately 31 million euros in the construction of a brewery in Sebes, (Alba County) with a production capacity of over 1 million hectolitres per year, Ziarul Financiar published February 26.

"To begin with, the Romaqua brewery will employ 220 people, but their number will increase in the future," stated the group’s representatives.

Once the shareholders have approved the project, the investment in the new factory will start this year and it could be completed by the following year, according to Romaqua representatives. According to the same sources, the first part of the investment in the new project, worth 18-20 million euros, will be made in 2007.
