Malaysia: Kirin Brewery announces establishment of Malaysian arm to drive Southeast Asia growth

Japan’s Kirin Brewery Company, Limited has announced the establishment of Kirin Brewery Southeast Asia SDN BHD (KBSEA) in Malaysia as part of its strategy to strengthen its business foundation and capture growth opportunities in the region, Malay Mail reported on September 28.

Kirin Journal reported that the new entity will officially begin operations on Oct 1 and take over certain functions previously managed by Kirin Holdings Singapore Pte Ltd.

Kirin said the move would enable more agile decision-making and allow the company to respond more quickly to local consumer needs in the rapidly growing Southeast Asian alcoholic beverage market.

KBSEA will spearhead marketing strategies and brand development across Southeast Asia, work with local distributors to build a stronger regional presence, and expand Kirin’s product portfolio.

The company said it also plans to launch new products and promote original equipment manufacturing (OEM) operations to better meet consumer demand and boost competitiveness.
