EU: Barley harvest completed across much of Europe
Barley harvest across much of Europe is complete, aided by clear weather with some quality variability but generally a manageable result, RMI Analytics said in their latest report this week.
Better than expected yields from Germany, France, and Denmark were partially offset by Poland. As a result, RMIs barley crop25 estimate is up 0.6 mln tonnes to 60.7 mln tonnes.
Despite delays in Black Sea harvest and the resulting boost to EU barley shipments, the early pace of crop25 barley exports is slow.
With harvest rapidly drawing to a close and demand remaining very poor, spring malting barley prices are much weaker. Winter barley prices are near feed levels and appear to be bottoming.
