USA, NY: Great Flats Brewing to close after seven years in business
After seven years, Great Flats Brewing on Lafayette Street in Schenectady will be closing up shop on Sept. 29, The Daily Gazette reported on September 9.
Building out this space, building our community, and of course, brewing lots of beer has been quite the adventure, and were very grateful for all the friendships, cool people and amazing times weve had along the way, reads a Facebook post from the brewery.
Named after the aquifer that supplies the city with its drinking water, Great Flats opened in 2017 and is owned by Harry Whalen and Tom Owens. The former is married to Haley Whalen, who owns Arthurs Market in the Stockade.
The taproom will be open 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Previously planned trivia, food truck, and other events are still on the docket.
