Czech Republic: Beer vending machines coming soon to Czech Republic

A computer whiz from Prague has come up with a program to read the age of people's identity cards in the Czech Republic and that opens the doors to selling beer from vending machines, Kare11 reported April 12.

David Polnar has wanted to sell beer from vending machines for a long time. But preventing minors from getting the beer was a problem.

Polnar and a buddy came up with a computer program that reads ages from Czech ID cards. The machine can read both ID car and passports.

Polnar says the Czech Republic has a great beer-drinking tradition and he's glad he's a part of making it easier to continue.
