Poland: Kompania Piwowarska increased production capacity for Bialystok brewery

Kompania Piwowarska (KP), Poland’s leading beer maker and part of the SABMiller group, has completed the extension of the distillery, cellars and storage facilities at its Dojlidy brewery in Bialystok, Polish Market Review published April 2. The project was another stage of the investment process at the plant.

Since its takeover in 2003, KP has spent approximately PLN 150m (€38.5m) on increasing the production capacity of the Dojlidy brewery. The investments resulted in the near-tripling of its output within four years to the current amount of 2.2 million hl beer per annum.

In the words of Pawel Sudol, the President of KP: “The investment results from greater demand for our beer brands, including Zubr, which remains the Dojlidy brewery’s flagship brand and has become the second most popular beer brand in Poland (an 11% market share in terms of volume) within a mere three years. Its great advantage is its origin: a region of ecological purity”.

The freshly completed stage of the expansion of the Dojlidy brewery in Bialystok is part of a three-year investment programme which has been ongoing since 2005 at all KP production locations (Poznan, Tychy, Bialystok) and which is worth approximately PLN 300m (€76.9m). About 20% of the funds have been used to increase production capacity at the Bialystok brewery.
