EU: Malting barley rather neglected on European markets
Malting barley of crop 2018 remains rather neglected without any clear demand on the European markets, GrainCom reported on January 18.
Prices are trending a bit lower, industry sources said.
Good amount of French winter malting barley is ending up in the feed bin at attractive prices. Logistics are improving as water levels on the rivers are almost back to normal.
Offtake of malt remains good, and the scenario from the last quarter continues, with long term delivery contracts being called in very early, the GrainCom analysts said.
